Updated: Nov 28, 2023

Siquijor is a small island province in the Philippines, located in the Central Visayas region. It is known for its beautiful beaches, lush rainforests, and mystical atmosphere. Siquijor is also a popular destination for diving and snorkeling, as its waters are home to a variety of marine life.

Here are some of the best places to go in Siquijor in 2023:

  • Lagaan Falls: Instead of the famous Cambugahay Falls This waterfall is one of Siquijor’s lesser-known tourist attractions. Visitors can swim in the natural pools at the bottom of the falls, or simply relax and enjoy the scenery.

  • Pitogo Cliff: Location to enter on Google maps is slightly off, it's actually one turning further down. Along a bobbly rocky road. You park your bike then pay 30 pesos entry pp. Water refill. The view is very nice and you can do a 13m cliff jump. It's high, so if you're not confident jumping don't feel you have to. You can walk down further to do a 3m jump if you'd prefer! A great place to watch sunsets. The rock is very sharp. If you want to jump we recommend to wear water shoes.

  • Old Enchanted Baliti Tree: Nestled in the heart of Siquijor, the Old Enchanted Balete Tree is a captivating and mystical attraction that will transport you to another world. This centuries-old tree exudes an otherworldly charm and is steeped in local folklore and legends. As you explore its massive roots and intricate branches, you'll discover natural pools filled with tiny fish that provide a unique and invigorating fish spa experience. The tranquil ambiance and serene surroundings make it an ideal spot for meditation and connecting with nature. Whether you believe in the supernatural or not, the Old Enchanted Balete Tree is a must-visit destination that offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage and enchanting allure of Siquijor Island.

  • Paliton Beach: A Beautiful beach in San Juan, Siquijor, it's divided into two sections. You should visit both. One is called "Little Boracay" due to its many palm trees right at the beach. There you get cold drinks and simple food. On the weekend it gets busy with the locals. The other part is mainly visited by Western tourists in the afternoons to get a beautiful sunset with cheap but amazing cocktails. Both beaches are only good to swim at high tide, so check the tide schedule in advance.

In addition to these natural attractions, Siquijor also has several historical and cultural sites to offer visitors. Some of the most popular include:

  • Lazi Convent: This convent is one of the oldest in the Philippines. It is known for its beautiful architecture and its collection of religious artifacts.

  • Salagdoong Beach: This beach is known for its coral sand, which is said to have healing properties. It is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.

No matter what your interests are, you are sure to find something to enjoy in Siquijor. With its beautiful scenery, friendly people, and rich culture, Siquijor is a truly special place.
